Want actual proof that politicians don’t give a crap about you but only care about being elected?
Watch THIS commercial for David Pepper, who is running for Ohio State Auditor.
Oh look, how cute. His last name is Pepper. So they’re playing on people’s love of pepper.
“More Pepper! You can never have enough Pepper!”
I think Mr. Pepper hired the people that put together homecoming king and queen campaigns when we were in high school to handle is 2010 campaign. The slogan sounds like something I woud have read on hand made posters on the walls in the lunch room and on cheap 99 cent hand painted pins the cute girls would wear.
Look… I get it. He wants you to remember his name easily at the ballot. It’s a mindset game just like anything else. You’ll see his name, think “oh yeah I remember his commercials! I don’t have a clue who the other guy is, so I’ll vote for him.” That’s how it works when it comes to smaller races in elections.
But that’s so insulting.
Instead of using some less than creative way for me to remember your name, why don’t build an ACTUAL relationship with me? Why don’t you find out what MY needs are and what you’re going to do for ME????? We, the voters, give these people jobs. We give them the responsibility of representing us. So maybe they should take the time to find out what WE want, instead of treating it like a popularity game.
President Obama won the 2008 election thanks to social media, which is all based around relationship building.
Maybe politicians should take a page out of that play book and put it into play in EVERY aspect of their campaign.
Be a real human being.
Actually care about what I want.
